Hell In A Handbasket

Pretty self-explanatory...no?

If the Republican Party had a better candidate running against Obama, maybe they would have stood a better chance.

The state of the union: a messianic, golden-tongued liar is poised to be the president thanks to a country of fools who do not understand the difference between Democracy and Socialism, Wall Street is in ruins along with the rest of the economy, Hollywood is suddenly the experts on everything including homeland security and political issues, Congress is a bunch of monkeys who chide corporate executives for flying private jets when they need to examine their own expense accounts, and terrorism is alive and well and spreading throughout the world. Before long, the Statue of Liberty will be wearing a burka and Christians will be beheaded and, sadly, the followers of our newly-elected "beloved" leader will welcome this as "change".

Ask me if I am cynical and I will certainly reply with a resounding "YES!" Has the anti-Christ risen? Most probably. I don't consider myself to be the most Christian person around, but I do consider myself smart enough to see through the bull-crap. And there has been plenty of it around. God help us all.

Fooling Yourself
by Styx

You see the world through your cynical eyes
You're a troubled young man I can tell
You've got it all in the palm of your hand
But your hand's wet with sweat and your head needs a rest

And you're fooling yourself if you don't believe it
You're kidding yourself if you don't believe it
Why must you be such an angry young man
When your future looks quite bright to me
How can there be such a sinister plan
That could hide such a lamb, such a caring young man

You're fooling yourself if you don't believe it
You're kidding yourself if you don't believe it
Get up, get back on your feet
You're the one they can't beat and you know it
Come on, let's see what you've got
Just take your best shot and don't blow it

You're fooling yourself if you don't believe it
You're killing yourself if you don't believe it
Get up, get back on your feet
You're the one they can't beat and you know it
Come on, let's see what you've got
Just take your best shot and don't blow it

To Be With You

So much in the news that it is hard to decide where to start. But since I have a photo of turkey, I will comment on the turkeys that are some of the people in this world.

Yesterday (Black Friday-busiest shopping day of the year), at a Walmart store in New York (where else?) crowds mobbed a store to get inside and trampled TO DEATH a temporary employee who was opening the door.

Has it gotten to the point when shopping has become so damn important that we end up killing people to get a bargain? I think so. This is unimagineable but true. In addition, a woman who was eight months pregnant was also trampled in the stampede. Luckily she is ok, but do we really put so much value on value that the taking of a human life is acceptable?

Who is to blame? Walmart? Society? The individuals who trampled this person?

We are all to blame. Our lives center on material object so much that we forget people. All we care about is ourselves. It is disheartening to see the world going to hell in a handbasket...which will be the subject of another blog entry soon.

Disgusted...

To Be With You

by David Archuleta

I've been alone so many nights now,
And I've been waitin' for the stars to fall.
I keep holdin' out for what I don't knowTo be with you,
just to be with you.

So here I am staring at the moon tonight,
Wondering how you look in this light.
Maybe you're somewhere thinkin' about me too.
To be with you, there's nothing I wouldn't do.

And I can't imagine two worlds spinnin' apart
Come together eventually..
And when we finally meet, I'll know it's right.
I'll be at the end of my restless road.

But this journey, it was worth the fight.
To be with you, just to be...
Holding you for the very first time, never letting go.
What I wouldn't give to feel that way...

Ooohh...Oh, to be with you...
Oh, and I can't imagine two worlds spinnin' apart
Come together eventually.
And when you're standin' here in front of me,
That's when I know that God does exist.
'Cause He will have answered every single prayer.

To be with you, just to be with you, yeah.
You....

Giving Thanks

It has been a long, long time since I have posted here. I am going to try very hard to be more diligent with my postings.

Today is Thanksgiving Day in the US. Sadly, I am not in a mood to give much thanks. I have felt sick the past few days...stomach virus. Physically, I am feeling much better today. Mentally though, I am pretty disgusted. So much has happened in the past few months that lead me to believe that there is not much hope for this country.

I find it incredibly sad that people will blindly follow a golden-tongued man with a messiah complex whose disciples apostolic fascination is dangerously close to cult-like devotion. Need I say who I am referring to??? Our supposed president-elect of course (I say supposed because as of this writing, the electoral college has not sanctioned this, but you would never know with the way he and his "followers" are acting).
I am not asking you to believe a word I am saying. The facts speak for themselves.
From Democracy to Socialism overnight...God help our country.
